Mountains, Light & Moments to Breathe

Artist Statement

Rooted in the landscapes of the Okanagan mountains, my acrylic paintings explore the interplay of light and shadow as fleeting moments of experience.
I focus on brief, often overlooked instants — a shift in light, a passing shadow — capturing them as quiet pauses held in paint through a restrained colour palette.

These landscapes are not literal depictions, but quiet spaces for reflection — places where the external world becomes a mirror for inner stillness. Through restraint and balance, I aim to create moments of pause, inviting viewers to slow down and inhabit the calm found within the natural rhythms of light and form.
